Our community was founded in 1946 by a group of determined and visionary Jewish women who recognized a need to establish a home for the elderly, serving people with Jewish needs as well as others with special care needs from the greater Jacksonville community.

Today River Garden is a comprehensive system of senior care services offering independent living accommodations, long-term skilled nursing, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, adult day services and home health care. River Garden predates the Medicare and Medicaid programs and the “business” of senior care, and has continued to uphold standards that far exceed the requirements of publicly funded programs.
