History and Mission

The annual River Garden Classic is a 28-year fundraising tradition that brings together board members, corporate sponsors and friends of River Garden for a great day on the greens at Deerwood Country Club. Tournament proceeds benefit educational programs to train and validate skills and competencies of the hundreds of staff working at River Garden.

Players enjoy a fantastic day of golf that begins with a deli lunch, includes a variety of on-course contests and skill prizes, and is followed by an evening awards ceremony.

The tournament continues to be a success thanks to the partnership and support of our individual and corporate sponsors, like long-time Title Sponsor, Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes & Cemeteries. To date, the tournaments have raised more than $1.6 million to benefit the residents of River Garden.
